Been sitting with this one a bit. Genius Terminal —
#genius ,
$GENIUS — pitches itself as infrastructure for scalable knowledge sharing of on-chain activity, but what actually grabbed me during the task was simpler and a little more uncomfortable than that.
The Genius Points Season 2 program running through August 10, 2026 hands out GP at 1 point per $100 spot volume vs 1 point per $1,000 perpetuals volume. That ratio isn't buried — it's just there. Spot is 10x more GP-efficient. So the "knowledge" getting scaled first is really how to farm the higher-margin book. Infrastructure, sure. But for whom, and toward what behavior?
The $787M single-day volume spike from January was real on-chain. The wallets were there. And yet a lot of that activity looks coordinated farming rather than organic discovery — smart money executing both sides simultaneously, per recent CMC data. The "signatureless," chain-invisible experience that's supposed to lower barriers... it lowered them most efficiently for people who already knew exactly how to play it.
I keep coming back to the Ghost Orders privacy feature, the MPC layer, the routing control — genuinely novel stack. The foundation for something is actually here. But I'm still not sure whether the knowledge being shared at scale is trading insight… or just the next iteration of how to extract value from a points program before the next season resets.
