The more I look at @SignOfficial , the less I think an attestation is just data written in a cleaner format.

Data by itself can be copied, moved , stored and forgotten. Which doesn’t really ask much from anyone. But an attestation feels different beacuse the moment it exists, a claim has been made and someone attached to that claim.

That’s the part that gives it weight.

In @SignOfficial , an attestatation is not jusy a packet of information sittinh on a rail. It links the statement to an issuer, a scheme and a verification path other systems can read later. So when the identity is asserted, eligibility is confirmed or aome approval gets issued, the recird is not floatong bu itself. It can carry responsibility with it.

That’s why @SignOfficial feels deeper to me than a normal data layer.

It’s just helping systems store claims. It’s making claims portable without stripping away accountability.
