I think my perspective the past few days,on AI + Crypto has changed quite a bit. In the beginning, it felt like every project was competing to call itself "decentralized AI." That narrative attracted attention, but attention alone doesn't create long-term value.

What matters now is whether these networks can provide infrastructure that developers and businesses can actually rely on.

AI is moving beyond chatbots and demos into finance, research, automation, and autonomous systems. As that happens, the requirements become much higher. Fast inference is important, but it's only one piece of the puzzle. The real challenge is delivering AI inference that is verifiable, scalable, and supported by transparent settlement mechanisms.

That's one reason @OpenGradient has been on my radar. Instead of focusing only on model performance, the project appears to be building infrastructure where AI execution can be verified rather than simply trusted. In my view, that shift is far more important than another benchmark claiming a model is slightly faster.

Crypto's biggest contribution to AI may not be token speculation—it may be providing the trust layer that AI has been missing. If inference, verification, and settlement become native parts of decentralized infrastructure, developers gain confidence, enterprises reduce risk, and users receive stronger guarantees about AI-generated results.

I think the next generation of successful AI projects won't be defined by the loudest marketing. They'll be defined by whether they can deliver reliable infrastructure that people can build on every day.
