House Democrats introduce bill to ban government officials from promoting meme coins
A group of #HouseDemocrats has introduced the Modern Emoluments and Malfeasance Act (MEME Act), which would make it illegal for high-ranking government officials, including the President, Vice President, members of Congress, and senior officials, to create, promote, or profit from digital assets like #meme coins. The bill, introduced by Rep. Sam Liccardo (D-CA), also targets those who profit from crypto tokens issued before the bill’s passage, including former President Donald Trump $TRUMP and his wife, Melania #MELANIA , who launched meme coins earlier this year.
