In an interview with the Financial Times, Circle chairman Heath Tarbert said that the company is working on mechanisms to recover users' funds if necessary, while the system would continue to maintain the principle of final settlement.

"We are looking at whether it is possible to reverse the transactions while preserving finality. There is a natural tension between instant transfers and irreversibleness," Tarbert said.
