Thousands marched across Sydney Harbour Bridge in a massive “Free Palestine” protest, braving torrential rains to demand a ceasefire in Gaza and global justice. Among them was WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, joined by former Australian foreign minister Bob Carr and MP Ed Husic.

Despite legal delays, the march—featuring chants like “Ceasefire now” and symbolic pans-banging to highlight famine—went ahead peacefully with up to 300,000 participants. Activists called for official recognition of a Palestinian state and an end to the suffering in Gaza.
