Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Pichai Chunhavajira, announced a new cryptocurrency payment project to be piloted in Phuket. The initiative will enable foreign tourists to use cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, for shopping in the tourist city.
The project ensures compliance with Thai laws, requiring tourists to register their Bitcoin through local exchanges and complete identity verification before using it for transactions.
