U.S. Electronics Tariffs Update: Temporary Relief for Consumers, New Semiconductor Tariffs Loom

April 14, 2025

Exempted Items: Smartphones, computers, hard drives, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment will remain tariff-free under a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs.

Impact on China: Despite broader U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods (recently raised to 84%), these electronics are temporarily excluded from the 145% duty applied to other imports.
