🔔 Trump Slaps Major Tariffs Ahead of Trade Deadline
President Trump has reimposed steep tariffs — from 10% to 41% — on imports from 69 countries, citing unfair trade and a national emergency tied to the drug crisis.
Key U.S. allies like the UK and Australia face 10% tariffs, while India and Taiwan face higher rates of 25% and 20% due to stalled trade talks.
Trump also hiked Canada’s tariff to 35%, blaming it for failing to curb fentanyl trafficking into the U.S. The new tariffs take effect August 1, with USMCA-protected goods exempt.
More trade rule changes are coming soon, targeting transshipped goods.
