Crypto Giants Launch Tax-Exempt Nonprofit to Educate Lawmakers

Coinbase, DCG, Kraken, Paradigm, and other crypto heavyweights have unveiled the American Innovation Project (AIP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit aimed at educating policymakers on decentralized technologies like crypto and AI. Led by DCG’s Julie Stitzel, AIP will focus on nonpartisan “informed dialogue” with lawmakers, complementing existing crypto advocacy efforts in D.C.

Registered as a tax-exempt organization, AIP must avoid influencing legislation as a primary activity, per IRS rules. Its board includes crypto lobbying veterans like Kristin Smith (Solana Policy Institute) and Nick Carr (Coinbase).

AIP kicks off with an exclusive event in Jackson Hole, WY, alongside a crypto policy summit attended by figures like Eric Trump, Sen. Tim Scott, and SEC chair Paul Atkins. Details on the event remain private.
