Tribunal Orders 'BitBoy' to Pay Damages for Spreading Unfounded Allegations Against Kevin O’Leary
Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, also known as “BitBoy,” has been ordered by a US federal judge to pay $2.8 million in damages to investor Kevin O’Leary for failing to defend himself in a defamation lawsuit. The judgement came after Armstrong accused O’Leary and his wife of murder and cover-up related to a 2019 boating accident, despite O’Leary's wife being acquitted and O’Leary never charged. Armstrong's attempts to overturn the judgment in 2026 were dismissed by the court. His legal problems are compounded by previous arrests for alleged threats and harassing phone calls, as well as his removal from the BitBoy Crypto brand due to substance abuse.
