I've done market-neutral trading on Fogo for three weeks. My understanding of being "on a blockchain" was completely changed by this experience.
With Fogo blocks are confirmed in 40ms, so issues around simultaneous usage practically cease to exist.
This isn't because there isn't simultaneous usage, because people are still being put at a disadvantage with transactions waiting, it is just because it happens so fast that a line doesn't form. No more frontrunning as it's impossible to intercede on something moving too quickly.
TheSessionkeymechanism is what is really the genius of the new ideas herein. It does not seem like a big deal at first for an app to be able to make transactions on your behalf within a set limit for a set time, but this ceases to be the case after forty transactions without needing to pause and confirm each one, at which point it really feels normal to be working with DeFi.
The Fogo community is small. The Fogo infrastructure is not.
Fogo isn't asking if blockchain can be like a CeX, it has already done it. The problem now is the market itself - if the market requires that. That is yet to be seen.
Every other blockchain focuses on "Transactions Per Second," I forgot that mattered at all with Fogo.
