Widespread use of the XRP cryptocurrency by major American banks for cross-border payments is not currently happening. This is primarily due to regulatory uncertainty in the United States.

However, the technology developed by Ripple (which can use XRP) is being adopted by numerous financial institutions in the U.S. and abroad for its efficiency in moving money.
