Breaking News: Meta Platforms, Inc. is planning to introduce stablecoin integration across its apps
According to recent reports, Meta Platforms, Inc. has announced that in the second half of 2026, it aims to integrate stablecoin-based payments—parallel to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies—within Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
To move forward with this initiative, the company has reportedly sent RFPs (Requests for Proposals) to various third-party providers to help implement dollar-pegged stablecoin payments and develop a new wallet infrastructure.
Reports suggest that instead of issuing its own stablecoin, Meta is considering working with third-party providers. This approach could offer a stronger regulatory position compared to its previously unsuccessful Diem (formerly known as Libra) strategy.
✨ Potential Impact:
📌 Stablecoin payments could reach nearly 3 billion users worldwide.
📌 Faster, cheaper, and seamless cross-border payments across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp
