As reported by Reuters, a confidential report from the International Atomic Energy Agency reveals that some of Iran's uranium, enriched to a 60% level—close to that used for nuclear weapons—has been stored in an underground area of its nuclear facility located in Isfahan.
This is the inaugural instance where the agency has disclosed the exact site of such a highly enriched substance.
Sources suggest that the Isfahan facility was hit during U. S. airstrikes and experienced damage amid the recent conflict lasting 12 days. Nonetheless, diplomatic sources claim that the underground storage area containing the enriched uranium has, for the most part, remained intact.
