US Lawmakers Introduce DEATH BETS Act
The proposed legislation would ban prediction market contracts tied to wars, assassinations, terrorism, or an individual’s death on CFTC-regulated platforms such as Kalshi.
The bill follows recent scrutiny of event markets after millions of dollars were reportedly wagered on U.S. military actions and geopolitical conflicts.
Prediction markets have grown rapidly since the 2024 elections, with Polymarket alone handling more than $3.3 billion in trading volume.
