I’ve been thinking about this for a while and honestly something about blockchain still feels off to me.

We always hear about decentralization transparency and security. But what about privacy? Real privacy not just hiding a wallet address but actually keeping your data your activity and your intent out of public view.

Because if you really look at it most blockchains don’t solve that properly.

Everything is visible. Every transaction every interaction every move is out there. And yeah some people say that’s the whole point. But I don’t fully agree. Not everything should be public by default.

At the same time, we still expect apps to be fast smooth and easy to use. We want multiple people to interact with the same system without delays or complications.

And that’s where things start breaking.

From what I’ve seen, privacy and usability don’t really get along in most systems. The moment you try to make things private everything slows down or becomes too complicated. Especially when multiple users are involved.

That’s why Midnight caught my attention.

It’s not just trying to “add privacy” on top of something else. It feels like it’s actually trying to solve the root problem. How do you let multiple people interact with the same application… without exposing what’s happening underneath?

That’s not easy.

In real life nothing works with just one user. Whether it’s payments, agreements or even simple interactions there are always multiple participants. If a system can’t handle that privately and smoothly then it’s not really practical.

What I like about Midnight is that it seems to focus on that exact issue. Instead of restricting interactions it tries to make them work in parallel while still keeping things hidden.

And another thing I found interesting it’s designed with the future in mind. With all the AI stuff growing fast systems will need to handle automated decisions transactions and interactions. But without privacy that becomes risky.

So building something that supports both privacy and coordination actually makes sense long term.

I’m not saying it’s perfect. It’s still early and a lot depends on how it plays out.

But at least it feels like someone is asking the right questions.

Because right now most blockchains are still choosing between privacy and usability.

And maybe it’s time we stop accepting that trade-off.
