Sign Protocol is building infrastructure for governments. Real governments. Sierra Leone runs its national digital ID on it. The UAE Web3 program uses it. TokenTable has distributed over 4 billion dollars across 40 million wallets.

But I read the whitepaper carefully and found something nobody is talking about.

The entire chain runs through a government controlled sequencer. Every single citizen transaction flows through it before reaching validators. That sequencer is also the only sequencer. There is no backup. There is no defined recovery plan. The whitepaper says exit to L1 if issues arise and then stops talking.

Who triggers that exit? Not specified. How long does recovery take? Not specified. Is there a fallback sequencer ready? Not specified.

For infrastructure that governments and citizens depend on every single day, three missing answers is not a small oversight. That is the entire failure plan absent from the document.
