$ETH draws another major accumulation signal as BitMine makes a record purchase of 71,179 ETH
📌 BitMine has just posted its strongest buying week of the year, adding 71,179 ETH in the week ended March 29 and bringing total holdings to 4,732,082 ETH, or about 3.92% of total supply. At a time when the market is still cautious, that scale is large enough to keep attracting attention from investors watching the crypto treasury segment.
💡 What stands out even more is that around 66% of its ETH holdings are already staked, showing the company is not only accumulating the asset but also positioning it to generate yield within the Ethereum ecosystem. That makes the ETH holding story look different from the simple buy-and-hold model focused only on price appreciation.
🔎 BitMine has also accelerated its accumulation for four straight weeks, while many other institutions have slowed down and Strategy has paused its 13-week $BTC buying streak. This strengthens the view that some institutional players are still willing to expand exposure to ETH even while broader market conditions remain less than ideal.
⚠️ Even so, such a high concentration in ETH remains a key risk to watch, especially if macro and geopolitical volatility stays elevated. For the market, this supports the longer-term accumulation narrative, but short-term price reaction will still depend heavily on overall risk appetite.
