I think people undersell Sign when they call it “just a registry.”
That makes it sound like storage.
The more interesting part is that it can stop systems from re-checking the same truth over and over like they’ve all got trust amnesia. One proof. Signed once. Reused across apps and chains. Cleaner flow. Less duplicated verification. Less pointless friction.
That’s a real upgrade.
But it also creates a new kind of weakness.
Now the question is not just “is the proof there?”
It’s “who issued it?”
And “is it still fresh?”
Because bad issuers scale downstream.
Old proofs do too.
That’s the part I keep coming back to.
Sign makes trust more portable.
It also makes source quality and timing way more important than people think.
