The viral claim about Iran forcing ships to pay only in crypto is not fully true it’s oversimplified

Iran is not officially saying only crypto but reports show some ships are being asked to pay fees in Chinese yuan or cryptocurrencies as part of a controlled passage system

So yes crypto is being used but it’s just one option not the only rule

Right now Iran is tightly controlling access to the Strait of Hormuz after recent conflict and only approved ships are allowed through

Ships may need permits share cargo details and in some cases pay up to around 2 million dollars per transit

Payments can be in yuan or crypto and once cleared ships may get a code and even an escort

This is basically a wartime toll system not a normal global policy

Traffic is still very low compared to normal levels with only limited ships passing and some countries negotiating access

At the same time things are slowly evolving with a few ships already moving through and talks happening to stabilize the route

Big picture this strait handles around 20 percent of global oil so this situation is a major disruption

Crypto is being used here mainly because it is faster harder to sanction and works during financial restrictions

The headline is exaggerated

Iran is controlling and charging for passage

Crypto is part of it but not the full story

What do you think does this push crypto adoption or is it just a temporary war move
