🇷🇺 Blow to faith: Russia condemns damage to church during US embassy bombing
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that Moscow is shocked by the damage to St. Nicholas Cathedral in Tehran as a result of the airstrike on April 1, which she called «barbaric» and placed responsibility on the «US-Israeli tandem».

The strike hit the nearby former US embassy complex, which was taken over by Iranian youth in 1979. During the attack, the unique Orthodox church of the Russian Orthodox Church, built in 1945 (architect N. Markov) and listed as part of Iran's cultural heritage, was damaged.
