DeepSeek's V4 model will be released in the coming weeks and run on Huawei chips
According to The Information, DeepSeek's new model V4 is expected to be released in the coming weeks and will run on Huawei's latest chip. The report quoted five direct insiders as saying that Chinese technology giants, including Alibaba, ByteDance and Tencent, have placed a total of 100000 batch orders with China for the upcoming chips to prepare for the release of V4. Two individuals close to the company stated that DeepSeek has been collaborating with Huawei and Cambrian Technologies in the past few months to assist in rewriting some of the underlying code of the model and conducting testing. And DeepSeek is developing two additional V4 derived models, each optimized for different functionalities and specifically designed to run on Chinese chips. Huawei and DeepSeek have not immediately responded to Reuters' request for comment outside normal office hours.
