🚨🤖 Anthropic Bans OpenClaw from Claude – The AI Game Just Changed!
Anthropic just banned OpenClaw from using Claude subscription credits. Starting April 4, 2026, if you want to run OpenClaw on Claude, you have to pay per API call instead of that cheap $20/month flat fee. Ouch.
Why the sudden move? Officially, they say OpenClaw’s automated requests were stressing their systems. But here’s the real tea ☕: OpenClaw’s founder joined OpenAI back in February. Anthropic saw that as a red flag and basically said, “We’re not funding our competitor.”
So what does this mean for you? If you’ve been using AI trading agents like Bitget’s GetClaw (which runs on OpenClaw), your costs might go up. Some traders have turned $50 into nearly $3,000 in 48 hours with these bots. Not anymore on the old subscription model.
But don’t panic. There are already workarounds: Claude’s own tools (Claude Code, Claude Cowork), super lightweight Nanobot, local offline options like cl0w, and even Alibaba’s Qwen 3.6 which just dropped and works great with OpenClaw.
This is one of those moments where staying flexible pays off. The AI-crypto space moves fast – adapt or get left behind.
What’s your strategy now? Still using Claude or switching to something else? Drop a comment below 👇
