Meta unveils Muse Spark, its first AI model from superintelligence team
Meta on Wednesday launched Muse Spark, a multimodal reasoning model built over nine months by its superintelligence division led by Alexandr Wang.
The model was delayed in March after internal tests showed it underperformed rivals from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, according to The New York Times.
Meta described Muse Spark as a "foundation" and said it plans to eventually release open-source versions, departing from the proprietary-only approach taken for this initial launch.
