Iranian media outlet Fars News reported this on Wednesday (April 8). The report stated that although two oil tankers were allowed to cross the strait in the morning with Iranian permission, the passage of tankers through the Strait of Hormuz is now stopped.
The continued movement of tankers through the Strait of Hormuz was a key condition of the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in an urgent phone call with Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir, accused Israel of ‘violating the ceasefire’. Tehran has warned that if attacks on Lebanon do not stop, Iran will completely withdraw from the peace agreement and will respond with counterattacks.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had stated that Lebanon was also included under the ceasefire agreement signed between Israel, the United States, and Iran. However, the Israeli military has rejected Shehbaz Sharif’s claim and made it clear that their attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon will continue.
