The US military has imposed a naval blockade on all Iranian ports. The blockade took effect from 4:00 AM Bangladesh time on April 13, 2026. US President Donald Trump ordered this tough measure shortly after nuclear program talks with Iran collapsed in Islamabad, Pakistan.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the sanctions will apply to all ships, regardless of nationality, traveling to or from Iranian ports in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. However, a key point is that the blockade will not restrict ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz to ports in other countries – only those destined for Iran.

In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a strong warning. They stated that any military vessel entering the Strait of Hormuz will be considered a violation of the ceasefire and met with a harsh response. Iran also asserted that it controls the strait. The situation is further complicated by the fact that one-fifth of the world’s oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz. Therefore, this blockade could have severe impacts on global energy markets and the world economy$USDT #USMilitaryToBlockadeStraitOfHormuz
