Iran has warned that if the U.S. blockade continues, it’s prepared to disrupt key maritime routes — including the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman, and potentially the Red Sea.
Major General Ali Abdollahi called the blockade illegal, vowing Iran will not allow trade to pass freely through these waters.
While Iran has no direct presence in the Red Sea, allied groups like the Houthis could play a role.
