Pixels — the game you come back to daily not because of the token
👇👇👇👇
Last week I pulled up some Pixels activity stats and noticed something unusual for a Web3 game — DAU has been holding even after $PIXEL dropped over 95%.
Usually in P2E it goes like this:
price falls → players leave → game dies.
This one didn't follow the script.
I dug a bit deeper. Turns out the team stripped out most token rewards and shifted to USDC payouts through a new system called "Stacked". So players aren't farming with hopes of dumping — they're just... playing. Farming, crafting, hanging out.
Honestly I'm allergic to any game that shouts "Web3 revolution". But one thing stopped me mid-scroll: they killed their own inflationary token BERRY. Voluntarily. Publicly.
That's either a sign of a maturing team — or quiet desperation.I haven't decided which.
@Pixels is one of the few projects where daily activity doesn't directly follow the price chart. But is that enough to keep players around when the next hype cycle arrives and shiny new games show up next door?
