You can start free, even sign up with email or phone, and the game’s own docs say you do not need land to access core features; Specks cover basic farming while owned plots mainly add space, functionality, and better yield. Recent design choices matter too: Pixels added extra free storage chests for free users, which suggests the team is still smoothing the early game instead of forcing conversion. The upside is obvious: free players can test the loop before deciding whether ownership is worth the capital. The risk is subtler. Land, VIP, pets, and other ownership-linked assets still improve storage and reputation, so optional ownership can quietly become soft power. For me, that balance is the real investment question: are NFTs enhancing play, or gradually setting the pace of progression?
