I used to think rewards were the reason people stayed in games. Over time I realized something different. Players stay where they feel engaged not where they are paid the most.

This is why the shift around PIXEL caught my attention. It changes how I see participation. When I stake PIXEL I am not chasing short term rewards. I am choosing which games deserve to grow. That decision feels closer to supporting an experience rather than extracting value.

The idea of a spend based reward system also makes sense to me. It reduces the urge to exit quickly and instead encourages me to stay inside the ecosystem. That small change creates a different mindset.

What stands out most is the direction. Less pressure on constant earning and more focus on player retention. It feels like a move toward balance.

And for the first time I feel like the system is asking a better question. Why would I stay if rewards were not the reason
