I’ve been thinking about Pixels lately, and what stands out the most isn’t what it’s doing—it’s how slowly it’s doing it.
There’s no constant rush. No pressure to keep up every day.
At first, that felt like a weakness. Now I’m not so sure.
In a space where everything moves fast and attention disappears just as quickly, slowing things down might actually be an advantage.
You don’t burn out as easily when you’re not chasing something all the time.
It also feels like it’s trying to build habits instead of hype. Small actions repeated over time, instead of big moments that fade quickly.
That kind of design is harder to notice—but it sticks longer if it works.
Of course, there’s a risk. If things move too slowly, people might lose interest before anything meaningful builds up.
So it really comes down to balance.
But if it holds…
