Cuba has acquired more than 300 military drones, many of which have come from Russia and Iran since 2023, and has discussed possible plans to use them against the US military base in Guantanamo, American warships, and possibly Key West"
This was reported by Axios, a publication close to the Trump administration, citing "secret intelligence data".
Some American officials told the publication that the drones, described as having "various capabilities", have been deployed to strategic locations across the island, while Cuban officials have recently requested additional military equipment from Moscow.
The intelligence data also suggests that Cuban officials are studying how Iran resists US pressure, as Iranian military advisers are present in Havana, Axios claims.
