🇷🇺🇹🇯 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin met in Moscow on May 18 to discuss key issues of Russia–Tajikistan relations and future cooperation between the two countries.
During the visit, officials also took part in a symbolic ceremony exchanging capsules of soil from historic burial sites in both Russia and Tajikistan — honoring Tajik national heroes Nusratullo Makhsum, Shirinsho Shotemur and Nisor Muhammad, as well as Soviet Civil War commander Nikolai Tomin.
The ceremonies, held simultaneously in Moscow and Kulob, highlighted the shared historical memory and longstanding friendship between the Russian and Tajik peoples.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between 🇷🇺 Russia and 🇹🇯 Tajikistan in line with agreements reached by President Vladimir Putin and President Emomali Rahmon.
