⚖️ BIG UPDATE: Elon Musk has officially lost his lawsuit against OpenAI and Sam Altman after a California jury threw out the entire case unanimously in just two hours.
📌 The court dismissed the lawsuit because Musk filed it after the legal deadline had already expired.
Musk argued that he donated $38 million to OpenAI when it was a nonprofit focused on building AI for humanity, not a for-profit giant now valued at more than $852 BILLION.
🗣 During testimony, Musk said: “It’s not okay to steal a charity.”
Sam Altman’s legal team argued that Musk was fully aware of OpenAI’s transition to a for-profit structure and even wanted long-term control of the company himself.
🔥 The jury never ruled on whether OpenAI’s conversion from nonprofit to for-profit was legitimate. The case was dismissed purely on procedural grounds.
Musk left OpenAI back in 2018 after disagreements with the founders and later launched xAI to directly compete with OpenAI in the AI race.
