So the Elon vs. OpenAI saga just got its verdict and… Elon LOST. 😬⚖️
Here's the quick recap: Elon Musk co-founded OpenAI back in 2015 as a nonprofit "for the benefit of humanity" 🌍, reportedly contributed around $38M, then left the board in 2018. Fast forward to 2024 — he sued Sam Altman, Greg Brockman and OpenAI claiming they abandoned the original nonprofit mission and turned OpenAI into a massive for-profit empire. He wanted potentially $130B–$150B+ in damages AND Altman removed as CEO. 👀💸
The jury took less than 2 hours to shut it all down. 🔨 Not because Elon was necessarily wrong on the merits — but because they ruled he waited TOO LONG to sue. Statute of limitations. 😅
