The first thing you should do when examining a chart is to discard your expectations for the market. Simply see it for what it is. Suppose you are considering Bitcoin. Whether you are aware of it or not, you already have a bias when you open that chart. You'll search for additional reasons to be enthusiastic about Bitcoin if you have a long position or a lot of spot $BTC. And you'll seek for more reasons to be pessimistic if you don't have a location, are short, or are simply holding stables in anticipation of a better deal. That's the nature of humanity.
