SMC / ICT MASTERY COURSE | MODULE 9: TRADE MANAGEMENT | DAY 54

TAKE PROFIT STRATEGIES

Maximizing Your Winning Trades

Take Profit Smart Money is headed: liquidity pools.

Target BSL/SSL, , and imbalances.

TP TARGET TYPES:

1️⃣ LIQUIDITY POOLS

🔹 Where stop losses cluster. Smart Money drives price fill orders.

🔹 BSL: Above equal highs

🔹 SSL: Below equal lows

2️⃣ SWING POINTS

🔹 Previous highs/lows on HTF. Natural magnets movement.

🔹 Long: Previous HTF high

🔹 Short: Previous HTF low

3️⃣ IMBALANCES

🔹 Unfiled FVGs that price tends to return to fill before continuing.

🔹 Long: FVG above entry

🔹 Short: FVG below entry

SMC TAKE PROFIT PRIORITY:

🔸 Nearest Liquidity: BSL/SSL, Equal Highs/Lows

🔸 HTF Swing Points: Previous major H/L

🔸 Opposing POI: OB or FVG in opposite direction

🔸 Premium/Discount: 50% of range (equilibrium)

TP STRATEGIES:

➡️ FIXED R:R TARGETS

Set TP at specific R:R multiples. Exit entire position at one target.

➡️ PROS: Simple, predictable, easy to backtest, no decisions needed after entry

CONS: May miss bigger moves, or get stopped before hitting TP

➡️ MULTIPLE TPs (SCALING)

Take partial profits at different levels. Secures gains while riding trend.

PROS: Locks in profits, reduces regret, captures extended moves

CONS: More complex, lower avg R:R if trend continues strong

COMMON TP SPLIT STRATEGIES:

🔸 Conservative: 70% at 1:2, 30% at 1:3

🔸 Balanced: 50% at 1:2, 50% at 1:4

🔸 Aggressive: 33% at 1:2, 33% at 1:4, 33% runner

RECOMMENDATION:

Start with fixed R:R (1:2 or 1:3) until consistent. Then graduate to scaling out with multiple TPs as you develop experience reading price action.

PRO TIP:

Always mark multiple TP levels before entering. multiple TPs allows you to take partials and secure profits along the way.
