THE GAME CHANGER: IBM’S 2029 ROADMAP AND THE "DEATH SENTENCE" FOR OLD BITCOIN WALLETS
IBM has announced a goal to deliver large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computers by 2029, a milestone much earlier than many experts anticipated. Supported by the $2 billion Anderon project, mass production of quantum chips on 300mm wafers will no longer be theoretical, directly pushing the Q-Day timeline into reality.
But looking deeper into reality, we see a HARD TRUTH for long-term holders: approximately 7 million BTC are in the "danger zone." Smart Money realizes that old Bitcoin wallets, where public keys have been exposed through past transactions or old wallet structures, will be the first dominoes to fall to quantum power (qubits). All traditional security support efforts will become meaningless when quantum computers can derive private keys from public keys in an instant, executing asset transfer transactions without the owner's consent.
However, do not forget the dark side: the polarization within the crypto community regarding how to respond to this threat. While some U.S. states are racing to build quantum sandboxes, the Bitcoin network is still bogged down in internal political debates over source code modifications, inadvertently creating a liquidity trap for those who believe in eternal safety.
Is your choice to believe in Bitcoin’s immutability or to prepare for a capital migration to quantum-resistant systems?
