I've been monitoring... the $OPEN for some time now. The concept is straightforward, yet I believe it is true: everyone seems to be competing to create larger models, but the real limitation lies in the quality of the training data. OPEN is directly addressing this need. Many initiatives in this area are either collecting irrelevant information or restricting data access. In contrast, OPEN aims to establish a system that is both authorized and meticulously curated on a large scale, which represents a completely different approach. If the competition for model supremacy continues to escalate, the entity that manages clean, licensed data resources will come out on top. It's still in the early stages, but that’s precisely the point.
