Ripple is set to unlock 1 billion $XRP on June 1, 2026, as part of its monthly escrow schedule. At the current price of around $1.36, the release is valued at nearly $1.36 billion.
However, this is not an unexpected event. Ripple’s escrow system, created in 2017, releases up to 1 billion XRP every month to keep supply movements transparent and predictable.
Historically, Ripple re-locks most of the unlocked tokens, usually returning 600M–800M $XRP back into escrow. This means the actual circulating supply increase is often only 200M–400M $XRP.
With $XRP struggling below the $1.40 resistance level, traders are closely watching whether the upcoming unlock creates additional selling pressure or if Ripple maintains its usual re-lock strategy.
