The strongest argument against GENIUS is fair: hiding DeFi complexity does not automatically remove DeFi risk. A smoother terminal can still fail if routing is weak, privacy creates new trust assumptions, or users only come for rewards.
But the real issue is deeper than speed. On-chain trading is messy because liquidity, bridges, gas, wallets, approvals, and execution privacy are all broken into separate steps. GENIUS is trying to pull those steps into one trading flow without taking custody.
That sounds useful, but usefulness must survive real pressure. Will traders return when incentives slow down? Will private execution stay reliable at scale?
For me, GENIUS is not just targeting convenience. It is testing whether DeFi can become cleaner without becoming less transparent.
