Tempo, a Layer 1 blockchain, has introduced proposal TIP-1061 to incorporate native multisignature (multisig) accounts into its network. According to ChainCatcher, this proposal aims to enable multisig control without the need for deploying smart contract wallets like Safe.
The proposed system supports M/N multisig, weighted multisig, and signatures such as Secp256k1, P256, and WebAuthn. It also allows for adjustments to members and permissions while maintaining the same account address. The proposal is primarily targeted at DAOs, institutions, and validators, and is currently in the draft stage.
