In his statement "Esmaeil Baghaei" said that the "European Union" must adhere to the principles of international law, the "United Nations Charter" and the rule of law.
He stated that it is incorrect to blame countries that are exercising their right to self-defense in response to illegal attacks.
The Iranian 🇮🇷 spokesperson emphasized that the "European Union" should stop criticizing countries that are taking measures to defend their sovereignty and security.
He added that under international law, targeting such military bases and military resources that are used for attacks against any country falls within the scope of the right to self-defense.
"Esmaeil Baghaei" further stated that it is the responsibility of every state to prevent its territory, airspace, or resources from being used for attacks against another country.
Speaking on the regional situation, the Iranian 🇮🇷 Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that due to a lack of trust and the continuously shifting policies of the United States 🇺🇸 and Israel 🇮🇱 regarding Lebanon 🇱🇧 the diplomatic process has slowed down. According to him, a ceasefire in Lebanon 🇱🇧 is extremely important under the current circumstances.
He clarified that a ceasefire in Lebanon 🇱🇧 must also be a necessary and fundamental part of any potential agreement related to ending the war with the United States 🇺🇸.
