Israel has confirmed carrying out strikes on multiple military targets across western and central Iran.
The Israeli military says the operation was launched in response to Iran's recent missile attacks on Israel, marking another major escalation between the two countries.
According to reports, explosions were heard in several Iranian cities, including areas around Tehran, Isfahan, Karaj, Tabriz, and Kermanshah. Iranian authorities have also imposed airspace restrictions around Tehran following the strikes.
The attacks come less than 48 hours after Iran launched ballistic missiles toward Israel following Israeli strikes in Beirut.
With both sides now exchanging direct attacks again, fears are growing that the fragile ceasefire and ongoing diplomatic efforts could be at risk.
