🏦 Unpopular opinion: Banks will become irrelevant in the next 20 years.

And most people aren't ready for this conversation.

Think about what a bank actually does:

Stores your money ✅

Sends money to others ✅

Gives loans ✅

Earns interest on YOUR money (and gives you almost nothing) ✅

Crypto already does all of this. Without the middleman.

DeFi is doing it right now:

Store value? → Self-custody wallets

Send money globally? → Done in seconds, for cents

Earn interest? → DeFi protocols giving real yield

Loans? → Aave, Compound — no credit score needed

The infrastructure already exists. It's just early.

The real question isn't "will crypto replace banks?"

It's — "how long will banks pretend it won't?"

JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs — they're all quietly building blockchain infrastructure while publicly dismissing crypto. 👀

That tells you everything.

The only things keeping banks alive right now:

Regulation & government backing

People's fear of the unknown

Habit

None of those last forever.

🧠 My take:

Crypto won't kill banks overnight. But in 20 years, your "bank" will be a wallet — and you'll be the only one with the keys.

Not financial advice — just pattern recognition.
