#bedrock $BR I keep thinking about the difference between complexity and sophistication.
They look similar from the outside.
Both involve systems that aren't immediately obvious.
Both require explanation.
But they lead to very different outcomes.
Complexity adds layers without adding value.
Sophistication adds value without unnecessary layers.
A lot of DeFi products are complex.
Nested protocols. Circular incentives. Mechanisms that require diagrams to explain.
And at the center of all that complexity, sometimes there's nothing particularly useful.
Sophistication is rarer.
It's when a system is exactly as complicated as it needs to be. No more.
Bedrock sits closer to that second category for me.
Restaking isn't a simple concept.
But the problem it solves is straightforward.
BTC holders want their capital to do more without changing what their capital is.
The mechanism serves the outcome.
The complexity exists for a reason.
That distinction matters more than most people acknowledge.
Especially when evaluating infrastructure that's meant to last. @Bedrock
