OpenGradient is trying to fix a real mess. AI is getting bigger, but most of it is still locked away in black boxes. You get an answer, but you do not really know where it came from, who ran it, or what happened in the middle. That is the problem.
The idea here is simple: host models, run inference, and verify the result instead of asking people to just trust the system. That sounds basic, but most projects in this space still overpromise and underdeliver. They talk big. Then nothing works cleanly.
What matters is whether builders can actually use it without fighting the stack the whole time. If it can make AI easier to deploy, easier to check, and less dependent on one giant company, then it has a point. If not, it is just another crypto project making noise.
That is the bar now. Not hype. Not slogans. Just stuff that works.
