#bitcoin dips, but quickly recovers as U.S. captures Venezuela's Maduro
The United States carried out a large-scale military strike on Venezuela, with President Donald Trump confirming that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were captured and removed from the country.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi said the couple face US indictments on narco-terrorism charges. The move follows allegations that Maduro rigged last year’s election to stay in power, with Trump accusing him of running a narco-state. Trump said the US will temporarily run Venezuela to ensure a safe and orderly transition.
Crypto prices suffered a brief, modest drop on the first reports of the military action, but have since recovered.
