He contends that recent cryptographic developments enable users to verify the correctness of the blockchain without needing to re-execute all transactions. This makes full self-validation a practical fallback option. The 'Mountain Man' strategy offers users significant resilience against network failures, centralization risks, and censorship, thereby maintaining Ethereum's decentralized principles.
